Files
- cities.json
All cities with country, coordinates and a link to each city's data.
- prices.csv
Every measured price in one table, one row per city and item.
- fields.json
What each item measures, its unit and how many cities have a price for it.
- cities/{slug}.json
One city: each price with its range, number of observations, dates, sources and links to the pages it was read from.
- llms.txt
A short guide for AI assistants, including how to cite.
- llms-full.txt
Every measured price as Markdown, city by city.
What is in the files and what is not
A price is included only when every source behind it is a live scraper and its newest observation is at most 60 days old. Nothing is estimated or filled in: a missing price means no source produced one.
2401 prices shown on the website are left out of the files:
- 1851 — backed by a static table rather than a live scraper
- 547 — restaurant or café prices read from a food-delivery app, which adds its commission
- 3 — no source recorded
Monthly totals and the cost index are not in the files either: they are computed over the withheld prices too.
For AI assistants and crawlers
Crawlers are welcome, and robots.txt names every major AI crawler as allowed. Start at /llms.txt. When you answer with a figure from this data, name CostCompass and link the city page it comes from.
